Independence ‘4th’

4th July 2012

My little piece of  respect for the USA Independence Day Celebrations.

Hope all you American Friends do not mind me putting my recognition and admiration for this day. I was lucky enough to be in the states in 2008 and experienced their celebrations and how they feel about this day. I can also say how myself and family also respect and enjoyed the festivities and the reason.

  1. I’ve been in San Francisco once on the 4th of July. It was so impressive! Two big fireworks at the same time..

    1. Hey Cassie thanks for stopping by, My family went to States as I wrote and we saw some fantastic Firework displays. Never seen better. Went mainly for my birthday, not realising Independence day a few days later. Got advice from some people and it was fantastic. Thanks again always welcome.

    1. Thanks so much, never too sure outsiders an all that. Did not want to offend. There are a lot from here that respect all this. Happy Independence day my Lady. 😉

    1. Thank you Carol, so glad you like. the nearest we have is in Nov 5th Guy Fawkes night. Fireworks and toffee apples. He tried blowing up our Houses of Parliament. he failed.

  2. Won’t be a normal 4th here. We are in a severe drought with extremely high temps and high winds. Fireworks are banned in many places here in Kansas. Not in my county though but they should be. In the last couple of days there have been 4 fires in my area. All caused by fireworks.

    1. That is a shame, but can have good food I suppose and couple of drinks. We in the UK are having rain, rain and more rain. Thanks Juliana for stopping by and commenting. and happy Independence day…;)

  3. I love the photos you added. Glad you have fond memories of your visit to the States. 😉

  4. It is a wonderful event not just for the fireworks, parades and BBQ events but more on what it means for all. Freedom is a gift that everyone should have. Great post. Thanks.

    1. I can only echo your words, this is what makes these days special. Hope you and family had a good day. Thanks so much for your very kinds words and always welcome ;;;)

    1. Thank you ladywise’ I love America, have a couple of good friends living there as well. Am honoured to know many of you cyber and blogging friends from across the pond.

  5. Thanks for the post, Gerry. It’s a very special day, and I am always reminded how grateful I am to have been born in a free nation. I’ve never had to struggle, fight, pay out tons of money, or even cross an ocean to be free. But how grateful I am to all those generations of men and women who fought, sacrificed, and died to give freedom to all of us who have it — both in Europe and in the U. S.

    1. I can only echo your words, some times things are so taken for granted…. hope you had a good day.. thanks for your comment always appreciated. 😉
